萝莉研究所 is proud to introduce and celebrate the remarkable contributions of Peggy Campo, a dedicated educator and leader who has been shaping the future of students since 2008. Peggy鈥檚 journey at 萝莉研究所 began as a full-time temporary instructor, and through her unwavering commitment to education and leadership, she has risen to the esteemed position of tenured full professor.
Peggy鈥檚 educational journey is as diverse and inspiring as her professional accomplishments. Born to Argentine immigrant parents in Panama and raised in New York, Peggy was deeply influenced by the rich cultural heritage of her upbringing. She later moved to Argentina, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. It was during this time that she married, started a family, and developed a profound appreciation for education, a value instilled in her by her parents.
Her dedication to education led her to pursue advanced degrees in the United States, including a master's degree from the University of California, Riverside (UCR), a master's degree from Harvard University, and a Doctor of Education from Northcentral University in San Diego. Peggy鈥檚 academic achievements are a testament to her belief in the transformative power of education.
At 萝莉研究所, Peggy has not only excelled as an educator but has also taken on numerous leadership roles, including Vice President and President of the Academic Senate, interim Dean, and department chair. Her leadership is characterized by a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students and faculty.
"Education is not just about imparting knowledge; it's about inspiring curiosity and empowering students to think critically and independently," says Peggy Campo. "My goal is to ignite a passion for learning in every student, especially in the sciences, where understanding the world around us can lead to profound and meaningful change."
As a professor of anatomy and physiology, Peggy is passionate about igniting a love for science in her students. She is dedicated to teaching them not only the subject matter but also how to think critically and independently. Her goal is to prepare her students, many of whom are aspiring nurses, for successful careers in healthcare by instilling in them a deep appreciation for science and evidence-based learning.
Peggy鈥檚 leadership extends beyond the classroom. She has been a vocal advocate for addressing and calling out microaggressions and implicit biases, particularly in the male-dominated fields of science and academia. Through her efforts, she has fostered a culture of awareness and education, empowering others to recognize and challenge these issues.
"My advice to students is to embrace challenges and never underestimate the power of perseverance," Peggy Campo advises. "The path to success is rarely straightforward, but with determination and a love for learning, you can overcome any obstacle. Stay curious, stay focused, and always believe in your ability to make a difference."
Peggy Campo鈥檚 journey is a powerful reminder of the importance of resilience, education, and leadership. 萝莉研究所 is honored to have her as part of its community, and we look forward to the continued impact she will have on the lives of students and colleagues alike.
