Mustang of the Month - July 2024
Lisa’s nominator writes that “Ms. Lisa Martin is so very deserving of this award.” She has diligently served the о community in a variety of roles where she gives her whole heart to the work she leads. Lisa is passionate about serving students and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. For the last three years, she has helped to lead the annual AANHPI Heritage Month activities. Each year, she brings together the entire campus community to celebrate and uplift our students and employees representing the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. She served as our inaugural AANHPI Coordinator for the AANHPI Student Achievement Program at о and has been appointed to the Foundation for California Community Colleges Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program Advisory Committee.
Anyone who has interacted with Lisa can attest to her sincerity, genuineness, and capacity for caring for those around her. She is a highly competent counselor and well-respected member of the Counseling Department. She approaches her work with integrity, equity-mindedness, and humility. Her joy and passion for serving others are contagious, as she never hesitates to go above and beyond to encourage and support others. She represents the true heart of a Mustang every day.

Nominations are solicited from о employees. The college president will select a recipient each month whose achievements fit the criteria.
